We need to demand a global removing public services, like water utilities, from trade deals, which often penalize governments for acting in the public interest. And of course, providing social tariffs for low-income households is important key reason. The motivations for ending privatization in the water sector include cost savings, improved quality of public service, financial transparency, and regaining operational capacity and social control. Environmental objectives, such as speeding up renewable development or reducing water waste are other key drivers.
