 OF THE LIME INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

OF SOCIAL ADVERTISING AND COMMUNICATIONS

 

  1. General Provisions
  • Moscow LIME International Festival of Social Advertising and Communications (the Festival) focused on the search for and identification of talented professionals and beginners in advertisement and design who can offer practical solutions to social issues.
  • The Festival held to increase the social activity of young people, to implement several educational tasks in the field of social communications, social advertising, to implement socially significant projects.
  • The participants of the Festival can be pupils, students, communication and other companies developing unique social content and events.

  1. Objectives
  • Improve the quality of social advertising and social communications in Russia and the World
  • Increase the social activity of young people.
  • Create conditions so participants in the competition and festival program could perform their creative abilities.
  • Help to implement the projects created for and during the Festival
  • Make social advertisement and social communication popular among youth
  • Promote the communications, media and design faculty, HSE
  • Increase the expertise and the level of production in social advertisement and social communication

  • Search for new ideas and practical solutions to create a social advertisement and social communication
  • Sharing best practice between leading Universities and professionals in the advertisement
  • Promotion of excellent projects in the field of social advertisement and social communication
  • Create space and conditions to publish the Festival works
  1. Stages

 Stage 1: Works Admission

Stage 2: Works Evaluation

Stage 3: Award Ceremony, Exhibition, Workshops and Closing Ceremony.

Stage 4: Post-Campaign.

  1. Jury
  • The jury is formed separately for each category of the Festival program. The work of the jury has two stages. At the first stage, the jury members evaluate the participants’ work and form a shortlist.
  • At the second stage, the jury identifies the winners in all categories and awards the Grand Prix.
  • The jury members are the experts from the Russian and foreign social and commercial advertising market.
  • The best work selected during a jury assembly and awarded with the Grand Prix regardless of its format and subject.
  1. Participation
  1. Everyone who wants to participate in the Festival can participate for free regardless of age and residence.

 

  1. If the already implemented campaign enters the Festival, the jury reserves the right to request additional information about the campaign from the authors. Also, the case of partners outside the competitive program can be presented at the Festival.

The Festival admits the works according to such topics:

  • Family issues
  • Childhood issues
  • Culture as an integral part of human life
  • Volunteering
  • Wellness and Sport
  • Prevention of Drug Addiction, Smoking, Gambling, Alcoholism
  • HIV/AIDS Prevention
  • Active Longevity
  • Animal Rights
  • Bringing attention to people with disabilities

This list is not final; participants can also apply their work for a free topic.

Topics and content of works applied for the Festival are considered in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.

  1. Nominations
  • The jury selects works in the shortlist and awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category. If in the opinion of the jury the number or quality of works submitted for the nomination does not meet the standards of the Festival, places in the nomination may not be awarded.
  • The following nominations are announced in the 2019 program:
  • Digital VIDEO Open category. In this category, you may submit works developed using mobile/portable devices (mobile phones and mobile technologies). Works using custom platforms are allowed. Works should clearly demonstrate a socially-oriented call to action or a solution to a social issue. Authors/companies are allowed to participate.
  • Digital VIDEO (for participants under the age of 18) Works of the authors under the age of 18. In this category, you may submit works developed using mobile / portable devices (mobile phones and mobile technologies). Works using custom platforms are allowed. Works should clearly demonstrate a socially oriented call to action or a solution to a social issue. Authors/companies are allowed to participate.
  • Digital AR + VR Open category. In this category, you may submit works created using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. Video and digital content created for immersion and/or interaction. Recordings can include live 360-degree photography or digital simulation with the possibility of studying. Works should clearly demonstrate a socially oriented call to action or a solution to a social issue. Authors/companies are allowed to participate.
  • Мultiplatform In this category, you may submit works implemented for various media through various platforms using a wide range of distribution channels. These may include (but are not limited to) websites, games, search engines, advertising banners, instant messaging, online platforms or technologies using the digital environment in an advertising campaign, as well as classic distribution methods: TV, radio, outdoor advertising, press, etc. Authors/companies are allowed to participate.
  • Еvent Open category. Works in this category represent offline or online events that have a clear socially oriented focus. Works can be presented in various formats, including video report, photo report, audio report, links to sites, social media. A confirmation package could be provided. The category includes, but not limited to live shows, flash mob events, BTL, festivals, concerts, sports events, sponsorship of events etc. Authors/companies are allowed to participate.
  • Corporate social responsibility In this category, jury evaluates social activity of a company aimed at developing a company’s relations with society and its stakeholders in the following issues: human rights, labor practices, environment protection, fair business, consumer related problems, participation in life of various communities and contribution to their development
  • Street Art Open category. In this category, you may submit works with a clear socially-oriented context or meaning related to a wide range of street art, including, but not limited to: graffiti, spray-art, stencil, various sculptural installations etc.
  • Print classic Open category. In this category, you may submit works that have a clear socially-oriented focus, posted in newspapers, magazines, inserts and trade magazines, or on traditional billboards/posters, calendars, clothing, promotional gifts and samples, tickets, leaflets, brochures, bus stop banners, and transit advertising using standard advertising space
  • Print classic (for participants under the age of 18) Works of the authors under the age of 18. In this category, you may submit works that have a clear socially-oriented focus, posted in newspapers, magazines, inserts and trade magazines, or on traditional billboards/posters, calendars, clothing, promotional gifts and samples, tickets, leaflets, brochures, bus stop banners, and transit advertising using standard advertising space.
  • Print digital Open category. In this category, you may submit works placed on such outdoor advertising medium as digital billboards, including 3D objects, custom-shaped platforms, signboards, wall screens, window frames, building wraps, helicopter banners and other formats that use digital space or its existing constant function.
  • Print digital (for participants under the age of 18) Works of the authors under the age of 18. In this category, you may submit works placed on such outdoor advertising medium as digital billboards, including 3D objects, custom-shaped platforms, signboards, wall screens, window frames, building wraps, helicopter banners and other formats that use digital space or its existing constant function.
  • Lime media. Media video social advertising Open category. In this category, you may submit socially-oriented products – videos created for promotion on television, on video on demand (VоD) platforms, as well as on online platforms such as Facebook, VK, OK.ru, Instagram, Tik-tok etc., for screens different from television, may incorporate but are not limited to: screens that require interaction with a consumer, for instance, touch screens and adaptive displays
  • Lime media. Media video social advertising (for participants under the age of 18) works of the authors under the age of 18. In this category, you may submit socially-oriented works– videos created for promotion on television, on video on demand (VоD) platforms, as well as on online platforms such as Facebook, VK, OK.ru, Instagram, Tik-tok etc., for screens different from television, may incorporate but are not limited to: screens that require interaction with a consumer, for instance, touch screens and adaptive displays.
  • Data visualization Open category. In this category, you may submit works representing data visualization, infographics, through concerning important social issues. Authors/companies are allowed to participate
  • Lime future. Idea Works of the authors under the age of 23. This category involves the evaluation of the social advertising ideas and communications, which can be implemented in any form and by any means, as well as through any distribution channel. Works in this category may be at the stage of testing, prototype, beta, or funding and work only in part from their estimated scale. Works should be submitted to the competition in the format of the presentation, with an attached textual description. Projects in the form of exclusively textual concepts would not be considered.
  • Man of the Year in Social Advertising and Social Communications – Open category. Nominates in this category are people who made the greatest contribution to the promotion of social ideas and/or implemented a social project on their own. Participants of this nomination come from public organizations. The winner will be selected by an open vote on the website of the Festival.
  • Blogger of the year in social advertising and social communications – Open category. Nominates in this category are people who have made the greatest contribution to the promotion of social ideas and/or implemented a social project internally through their own blog, vlog, to be voted on. Participants of this nomination come from public organizations/companies or independently. The winner will be selected by an open vote on the website of the Festival.
  1. Participation Terms

The number of works submitted for participation in the Festival from either from a person or a group is not limited.

The application for each work must be filled separately.

The application for participation in the Festival and the work must be submitted using the online platform (we are developing the online platform now).

  1. Content Restrictions

The Festival jury reserves the right not to allow the participation of any work containing scenes of violence, strong language, images of syringes, depiction or mentioning drugs preparation; the black should not dominate the other colors. If the jury’s experts identify cases of plagiarism, the work will be withdrawn and posted on the Festival’s website with a mark “plagiarism” and the source of the original idea.

  1. Awards

 The winners will be awarded the Festival diplomas and prizes provided by the Festival partners.

  1. Evaluation Criteria
  • Technical quality of performance (the quality of video, sound, cinematography, animation, artist’s and director’s work, etc., according to the nomination)
  • The creative idea performance
  • The uniqueness and creativity of the project or idea
  • The ability to implement the idea in the future (in the nomination «Lime future. Idea»)
  1. Results

 The festival results will be announced in the Festival Finals, which will take part in Moscow on April 24, 2020 at the HSE Cultural Centre (5a Vorontsovo Pole Street, Moscow)

  1. During the Festival Finals, the Exhibition and the Award Ceremony will also take part.
  2. The works of the winners will be published on the websites of Festival media after the Finals.

 

  1. Publishing Terms and Conditions

The Festival founders reserve the right to use and place the winners ‘ works and the shortlist in any materials initiated by the Festival Programming Committee. The works of the Festival winners and the shortlist cannot be used by the Festival partners without a link to the Festival website http://limefestival.ru/
